'Bishop's Castle'

A painting of a beautiful, old tree on a walk from Bishop's Castle, Shropshire. I really enjoy building up the layers of paint for the background and then painting the negative space to create the light coming through the trees. This tree stood out, on the edge of a field, with a nearby stream. It was the landmark at the end of a trail before venturing into the next field; an old friend there to greet you at the end of that part of the journey, guiding you onto the next.
